Hack FAQs
What is a hackathon?
A hackathon is an all-day coding marathon. Participants work through the allotted time period to create original projects, software or hardware (less common). We will have a guest speaker and workshops available for students who are interested in learning about computer science (No experience necessary)!
Is there anything to do for students who are interested in coding but have little to no experience?
We will have a Java workshop and an HTML workshop, where we'll help you build your own project!
Who can participate?
All middle and high schoolers interested in computer science are welcome to attend! No experience necessary.
Can I bring a team?
Teams of up to 3 members are encouraged, but if you want to be alone like Greta Garbo, that's fine. You can sign up with the option to be added to a team at the hackathon if you can't find anyone when you sign up.
What else do I bring?
Bring a laptop. Food will be provided, but you can always bring your own. If you have allergies, tell us.
